Painful laxity of thumb CMC joint in 26 yr old

Hi, first time posting here. I would be grateful for any advice.

I have a 26-year-old woman does office work with a 3 year history of pain from her dominant thumb CMCJ. No trauma. She is tender here and has had good relief from an LA injection. She has had splints and therapy and would be keen to try surgery.

X ray shows some subluxation only. An MR arthrogram was reported as showing bowing of her anterior oblique ligament indicating some laxity.

I have done Eaton-Littler in patients with more subluxation or with proper instability but she just has pain. Neither worked very well, I'm afraid.

I am not sure that an arthroscopic assessment has much to offer. I would keen to hear people's thoughts on any surgical options to help her.

Thanks very much,

Will Mason
